When organisations grow, operational challenges grow with them.
Over the past months, Intys consultants have partnered with Serve the City Belgium through a pro bono initiative aimed at strengthening the organisation behind the scenes.
Serve the City coordinates more than 3,000 volunteers across three Belgian cities. While this growth reflects the success of its mission, it also creates new challenges around governance, collaboration, knowledge management and organisational efficiency.
This is where Intys consultants brought their expertise.
Through a series of workshops and coaching sessions, our teams helped:
- clarify roles and responsibilities
improve governance and decision-making processes
document key knowledge and practices
strengthen internal collaboration
introduce structured tools such as RACI matrices
Rather than providing ready-made solutions, the project focused on understanding the organisation's reality and co-creating practical improvements that could support sustainable growth.
"We are usually so focused on supporting volunteers and making projects happen that we rarely stop to reflect on our own systems. In many ways, Intys is doing for us what our volunteers do in the field."
— Jeremie Malengreaux, Joint Director, Serve the City Belgium
For Intys, this initiative perfectly illustrates the value of skills-based volunteering. Beyond supporting businesses, consulting expertise can help nonprofit organisations strengthen their foundations, improve their effectiveness and ultimately increase their social impact.
Because creating impact is not only about what happens in the field. It is also about building the structures that make that impact sustainable over time.
